ARE YOU AN ESTABLISHED PROFESSIONAL WANTING TO MAKE POSITIVE CHANGES IN SARNIA AND AROUND THE WORLD?
There are many reasons why you might be interested in joining Rotary and in particular the Rotary Club of Sarnia. Considering that Rotary clubs around the world are classified as service clubs, it is clear that the goal of a Rotary club and a Rotarian is to serve. Ultimately the business of Rotary is mankind; its product is service. As a Rotarian, you will have the chance to do something for somebody else. By doing so, you will enjoy a sense of self-fulfillment and you will find experiencing “service above self” richly rewarding.
.
.
As a Rotarian you will also experience being an active respected citizen of your community and an active citizen of our global community. You will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of peoples in your community and throughout the world by assisting those in need through humanitarian service, either by supporting humanitarian projects and programs, and by responding to worldwide crisis situations, or by becoming directly involved in a hands-on project in your community or abroad.
.
.
Considering that there are over 1.2 million Rotarians worldwide as members of 35,000 Rotary clubs in over 200 countries, it is easy to recognize that all of these Rotarians are our instant friends serving as Rotarians for the same reasons. Many of these Rotarian friends are there to assist and support you in time of need while travelling around the world.
.
.
Rotary also provides Rotarians with opportunities for personal growth through the development of social skills, leadership skills, public speaking skills, and increased appreciation and awareness of cultural differences, and through the development of high ethical standards which are applied in our daily lives, in our associations with others and in our vocational endeavours.
.
.
The second original reason for Rotary’s beginning was to enable Rotarians to experience business development. As a Rotarian, you will have the opportunity to network with a cross section of the business community. It is true that Rotarians help one another, and collectively help others.
.
.
There is still more to be gained from being an active Rotarian. Being a Rotarian is a lot of fun. It provides opportunities for entertainment, the development of new friendships, for fellowship, and the means for the entire family to join in with a great group of wonderful and special people and families.
