Sarnia Rotarians open bidding on their largest TV auction campaign

Sarnia, ON/November 19, 2011 - Hundreds of area residents will be getting their holiday shopping done on November 20 and lending their support to community improvement projects, by offering their bids at The Rotary Club of Sarnia’s Annual TV Auction, on TVCOGECO Sarnia's Channel 6, beginning at 1 p.m.

This year’s bidding blocks offer a wide range of high-quality auction items, all donated by local businesses. Included are iPads, vacations, dining experiences, sailing excursions, computers, TVs, a Wii console and many more items.

Auction enthusiasts continue to have two easy ways to submit their bids.

Tune in and phone in to the auction action on Sunday, November 20, 1 p.m.-9:30 p.m. Watch the live broadcast on Channel 6, brought to you by our auction partner, TVCOGECO Sarnia. Alternatively, the auction blocks can be accessed at The Official Rotary TV Auction Website.

The Rotary auction Website presents a complete listing of items and event sponsors, including some blocks that will only be available for bidding over the Internet. Expanded Website features offer bidders incremental and advanced maximum bidding options. Advanced on-line bidding was officially opened earlier in the week.

The Rotary Club of Sarnia represents the contributions of over 70 members, representing local business and community leaders from a wide range of professions. Continuing to live their motto, "Service Above Self," local Rotarians and their Family of Rotary supporters maintain an ongoing program in the interests of special needs children, and youth skills development, as well as local and international health care and drinking water supply aid. In conjunction with the World Health Organization and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Rotarians are "this close" to eradicating polio worldwide.

The Rotary Club of Sarnia is an affiliate of Rotary International, a worldwide organization that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. Approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 31,000 clubs in 168 countries.
